I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all participants, coaches, and officials.
I will keep winning in perspective. A child usually forgets the outcome of the game: it is the adults that have a tendency to stress the win/loss record.
I will review the Players Code of Conduct with their player and expect them to abide by it.
I will let coaches coach and players play. I understand my role at any game or practice is strictly limited to cheering and giving encouragement, unless asked directly by the coach to help.
I will address concerns with a coach privately and follow the coaches contact policy (24, 48-hour rule, etc)
I will strive to be a good role model for my player and the other Witches. I will encourage my player to learn to lose with dignity and win with grace.
I will assure that my player is on time for practices and games and I will communicate in advance with the coaches in the event we will be late or absent from a practice or a game. I understand that being late affects the entire team and its coaches. I also understand that playing time may be reduced by repeated lateness to or absence from games or practices.
I recognize the importance of volunteer and paid coaches and I will communicate with them when necessary and support their decisions. All coaches and trainers should be treated with respect.
If I have a concern (or complaint) with respect to a coach or the program, I will either discretely and respectfully speak with the coach or will contact the president. No conversation with a coach relating to a complaint or concern will take place in a location where any player or other parent can hear us. Further, I will wait at least 24 hours before contacting a coach regarding a concern related to playing time or playing positions.
Violations of the code will be addressed at the discretion of the Board of Trustees who may take such action it deems appropriate in the circumstances which in severe cases may lead to expulsion from the program.
